Reality-Survey is the long-term creative project of Ashley Michael Briggs. Reality-Survey’s purpose is
to collect and produce highly aesthetic visual images that investigate and challenge the concepts of
reality, landscape, reduction, cartography, superiority and evolution, anxiety and aspects of the ‘self’.
Technologically, Reality-Survey is a unique project. The process has been designed as a system
incorporating hand-modified professional imaging technology, which purposefully eliminates the
need for lens-based photographic methods.
1:1 scale ratio is maintained throughout, keeping to within cartographic tolerances. Reality-Survey
images often exceed 3200MillionPixels with the process creating an aesthetic that cannot be replicated.
With rare exception, all Reality-Survey imaging is carried out on location using a mobile-studio.
